
The Manteno Chamber of Commerce is welcoming its newest member later this week, announcing Jakob Knox will be added to the staff as the next President and CEO, Marketing, and Community Relations Director. Knox is a Kankakee area native, graduating from Herscher High School and earning his degree at Kankakee Community College. Knox is no stranger to being active in the community, sitting on the Board of Directors for United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois County, being an Auxiliary Member for the Kankakee County Historical Society, and acting as a Committee Member for the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee. Knox also has a strong rapport with many local businesses, coming from his role as a Business Development Associate with Milner Media Partners, where he was tasked with creating marketing campaigns for local businesses in the area.
Jakob is certainly ready to get started, stating in a press release; “I’m most looking forward to exploring new innovative ways for chamber members to engage with the community and ensuring that our youth’s thoughts and perspectives are represented and part of the bigger picture. Our community and the businesses that reside here are unique – and I look forward to showcasing and working with them.“
Current President and CEO Sarah Marion is stepping down from the position on March 1st, stating in a letter to the chamber she is looking to pursue her dream in starting her own organizational consulting business. Knox is set to start on February 27th, 2023.
